Step behind the scenes at the Blyth Tall Ship workshops on Quay Road with our engaging, free guided tours.
Lasting around one hour, each tour offers a unique opportunity to explore traditional shipbuilding in action and immerse yourself in local maritime heritage.
Meet our experienced team of skilled shipwrights, who will share fascinating insights into their craft, techniques, and the stories behind their work. At the heart of the tour is the remarkable Zulu drifter—the first wooden vessel to be built in Blyth in 138 years. Learn about its historical significance and the meticulous process of bringing it to life.
As you explore the workshops, you’ll also discover a striking new mural by local artist Frank Styles, celebrating the spirit of the town and its shipbuilding legacy. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply curious, this is a memorable experience not to miss.
Workshop tours start at 10am on Tuesday 23rd June and take around an hour. FREE but booking is essential, via hello@blythtallship.co.uk
