Last Night of the Proms featuring Blyth Symphony Orchestra & Blyth Community Windband

Join us at St Mary’s Church for our Last Night of the Proms, performed by Blyth Symphony Orchestra and Blyth Community Windband.

The Blyth Community Windband was formed in September 2024 at Yamaha Music School by Steven Moore. Conducted by Chris Turnbull, the group have worked hard every Monday to bring you events such as the free Christmas Spectacular last year and the Film Music Spectacular in April.

Blyth Symphony Orchestra, formed more recently in September 2025, joins a growing number of ensembles operating out of Yamaha Music School. Neil Morton, pianist and long time teacher in the North East, runs the orchestra which rehearses every Tuesday. You may have seen the orchestra perform at the Film Music Spectacular in April.

The two ensembles will be performing together in July for an afternoon of orchestral classics.

Join the community for an afternoon you won’t forget at St Mary’s Church!
